In a video shared to Twitter by @Acyn, President Biden was filmed mid-speech making a point of stopping to drink from a glass of water. “Excuse me,” he said before putting the glass to his mouth using one hand in what seemed to be a comedic reference to Trump’s previously noted habit of drinking water with both hands. His actions drew loud cheers from the crowd at the rally being held in Arlington, Virginia as part of Democrat Terry McAuliffe’s gubernatorial campaign....

In a poll released Monday by progressive firm Data for Progress, 47 percent of likely Texas voters chose Biden, compared to 46 percent for Trump. Another 5 percent said they were unsure of their choice, while 3 percent indicated they would vote for a third party candidate. Biden’s lead falls well within the poll’s 3.2 percent margin of error. Meanwhile, likely voters chose to keep Republican incumbent Senator John Cornyn in office by a 3-point margin over Democratic challenger M....

The latest survey by Mitchell Research & Communications reported that Biden was backed by 54 percent of Democrats in the state, while Sen. Sanders (I-Vt.) was supported by 33 percent. It also found that the former vice president had a 43-point lead over the Vermont senator among African American voters in the state, with 64 percent opting for Biden and less than a quarter (21 percent) backing Sanders. But the congressman did come out ahead of Biden among younger voters....

An Investors Business Daily (IBD)/TIPP poll found that Biden’s approval rating now stands at 44.4 percent and has fallen 4.8 percentage points over the past month—in line with other polling that shows the president’s approval in negative territory. Democrats are facing crucial midterm elections in November with Republicans hoping to regain control of the House of Representatives and the Senate and potentially stymie Biden’s agenda. Biden’s 44.4 percent approval rating in the IBD/TIPP poll excludes respondents who were unsure or declined to state an opinion about their approval of the job the president is doing....

A new ABC News/Washington Post poll shows that Biden’s approval rating now stands at just 44 percent, while his disapproval rate is now at 51 percent following the military drawdown that ended on August 31. One of the poll’s key findings is that 60 percent of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan. However, 77 percent of respondents supported leaving the country. These numbers appear to indicate that while ending the 20-year war is popular, most Americans are unhappy with how the troop withdrawal was carried out....

Senate Republicans are expected to block a House-passed bill that would create a commission to investigate the events at the U.S. Capitol on January 6. Some Democrats have argued that the Senate should gut the filibuster’s 60-vote threshold in the narrowly divided chamber on order to advance the legislation. “As far as I’m concerned, that is the kind of issue which should be majority-vote decided. Rogan’s repeated use of the podcast to disseminate fringe COVID-19 viewpoints led a group of 270 scientists and health care professionals to publish a letter on January 10 calling on Spotify to take action against the spread of misinformation on its platform. “[W]e call on Spotify to immediately establish a clear and public policy to moderate misinformation on its platform,” the letter wrote. Recording artists Neil Young, Joni Mitchell helped to amplify the letter’s request with Young announcing on January 24 that he would have his music pulled from Spotify if the company did not remove Rogan’s podcast....

Through recent years Joe Rogan has done a tad less of the on-location commentating for the UFC. Rumors swirled that when the company was bought for $4.2 billion he would step away, giving new owners a fresh new start across the board. Instead, he gave it a flow of commonality.
