John Cena revealed his thoughts on the Nintendo Switch in an interview with Sports Illustrated. Overall, Cena seems enthusiastic about the console’s potential, though it’s worth noting that he is paid to advertise it, so readers should take his words with a grain of salt.

When it comes to the Nintendo Switch, Cena seems most excited about its portability. For the uninitiated, the Nintendo Switch is a home console/handheld hybrid device, with players able to play a game on their TV by placing it in a docking station, and then take it with them on the go. Portability is the console’s defining feature, so it’s reassuring that Cena is praising it so highly, even if he is paid to do so by Nintendo.

Cena’s paid celebrity endorsement may have a little more weight to it than other celebrity endorsements, though. For what it’s worth, Cena seems to be a genuine fan of Nintendo, naming some of his favorite NES games in the Sports Illustrated interview, and proving some knowledge of video game history by remarking on the original The Legend of Zelda’s gold cartridge.

Speaking of Zelda, Cena also shared his impressions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which stands as the flagship title for the Nintendo Switch’s launch lineup. Similarly to the Nintendo Switch, Cena was impressed by Zelda, saying he didn’t want to put it down after having played for only 30 minutes. If John Cena is to be believed, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will “exceed expectations” when it launches on March 3rd.

Again, it’s worth pointing out that John Cena is a paid celebrity endorsement by Nintendo, so he is certainly a biased source. However, he also seems to be a genuine fan of Nintendo and gaming in general, which may make his opinion a little more valuable for some, paid endorsement or not. Regardless of whether Cena is being genuine about his opinion of the Nintendo Switch or The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, fans won’t have to wait long to try the console and game for themselves and formulate their own opinions.

Nintendo Switch will be available on March 3rd.
