First, a quick catch-up: Embiid and Towns engaged in a wrestling match that also appeared to include attempted punches. Both men were ejected. The most physical part of the incident may have been Embiid’s teammate Ben Simmons locking in a choke on Towns on the floor and Towns seemingly tapping out.
Now, on to the real main event: the postgame trash talk after Embiid’s Sixers routed Towns’ Timberwolves.

First, Embiid told reporters, “I ain’t no bitch,” a callback to teammate Mike Scott’s classic line from last spring. Then he decided he wanted to go another round on Instagram.
(A step back for context: Jimmy Butler and some T-wolves third-stringers reportedly beat Towns and the other starters in a scrimmage last fall as Butler tried to show how valuable he was to Minnesota. The Wolves traded Butler to Embiid’s Sixers early last season.)

Back in the day — all right, it was only late 2017 — Embiid considered Towns a friend while trolling him. After Wednesday, it’s hard to see the friend part still being the case.
Fans will have to wait until March 24 for the rematch on the court. That’s loads of time for the two to do more thumb wrestling on their phones.
